Dec 19 RIM launches the BlackBerry App World 3.1

Research in Motion has unwrapped its all new BlackBerry App World. The Canadian Company has updated its application store to version 3.1. This innovation comes with new exciting features. These additions enable you to send gift requests to other BlackBerry Messenger users. The Request Gift feature allows you to send and receive the gifts requests in the most convenient way to your BBM contacts. You can use any method like the PayPal and Credit card to make the purchases.

The upgrade also activates the content rating system and associated parental filters. It will curb certain type of content. The feature is especially targeted to parents who want to keep the illicit or adult contents from their children. This specific content rating system stands on CTIA Wireless Association’s “Guidelines for App Content Classification and Ratings”.

The new BlackBerry App World will work over Wi-Fi, it allows you to browse, purchase, and download apps through Wi-Fi even without the 3G network. So that if you are in an area where there is no signal you can switch to the WiFi network easily.

Users will be getting an update notification in the next few days after that the App World will be open to users, or you can even download it directly through the App World.
