Jan 09 Huawei Introduces Ascend P1 S World’s Thinnest Smartphone

While the two arc rivals, Samsung and Apple struggle to crown their devices Galaxy S II and the iPhone as the world’s thinnest smartphone, here comes one more contestant for this claim. It’s Huawei which is in limelight today with its 6.68 mm thick Huawei Ascend P1 S.

Focusing the specs, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, qHD 960 x 540 resolution, Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 Cortext-A9 1.5 GHz CPU, supported by the PowerVR SGX 540 GPU, eight-megapixel camera at the back with dual-LED flash and 1080p video recording capability, a 1.3-megapixel HD front-facing capable of recording 720p, 1,800 mAh battery and Ice Cream Sandwich all combine to fabricate a device called the Ascend P1 S.

Not only Huawei’s flagship Ascend P1 S is thinner than the Galaxy S II and iPhone but its predecessor the Ascend P1which measures7.69 mm and boasts similar specs is also slimmer than Apple and Samsung flagships. Both smartphones will be available in three flavors, metallic black, ceramic white, cherry-blossom pink and will be available in Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, Australia, Middle East or China in the second quarter of the year.
