Mar 06 How to port AOKP ROM to Asus Transformer Prime

The youngnex has chosen Asus Transformer Prime owners to savor the Android Open Kang Project also known as AOKP, a new addition to ROM family. The genius from XDA Developers has ported this ROM for Transformer Prime which is haunted by some bugs but offers better performance and ROM Control Mod, a new feature that enables a user to customize his UI very easily. The bugs found in the build are mentioned below.

• Screen Rotation is only in Landscape mode
• All options in the Rom Control doesn’t work
• LED Options
• Reboots when you press the Power Button to sleep TFP
• Screen remained on while closing the dock/tablet
• MicroSD

But if you are daring enough to ignore all theses bugs, here is the simple method which will bring the ROM to your phone. All you need is to have an Asus Transformer Prime (rooted and CWM recovery installed), USB Data cable and a computer.

• Download the AOKP file on your PC, now connect your Transformer Prime to the computer through USB cable.
• Copy the downloaded zip file to the root directory of your SD card and disconnect your device from the computer.
• Turn off the device and got to the Clockworkmod recovery
• Now take backup to save your Old ROM
• do a full wipe by selecting Mount and Storage then wipe the following:
• Select install zip from Sd card> choose zip from Sd card> from the main menu and then select the aokp_tf201_build-26-squished.zip to start flashing the AOKP ROM.
• Return to main menu and choose Reboot System now.

• Format System
• Format Data
• Format Cache
• Go back to main menu and select advance then wipe dalvik-cache.

Its done, follow the instructions below to download Google Apps.

• Download the file on your computer and connect your device to the computer via USB Data cable.
• Copy the file to root the directory of SD card
• Disconnect your phone device from the computer and turn it off
• Now go to the recovery mode
• Go to the main menu and choose install zip from Sd card> choose zip from Sd card> then pick the gapps-ics-20120224-signed.zip to start flashing the Google Apps.
• Now come back to main menu and select Reboot System now.
